A quick update on what is happening in the Nurturenature garden. There are a few places left for the poetry reading on Saturday 15th July both for the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock sitting. Also upcoming is a freestyle batik workshop on the morning of Saturday 5th August by Louise Grassby following on from her successful silk scarf making workshop. Tickets are £15 each and you will come away with your own work of art though I am assured no pre existing artistic skills are needed.

Later on in the month on the 19th August (Also a Saturday) there is a creative writing workshop run by Sarah McPherson themed around nature – no previous writing experience is needed. More details will follow. There is also going to be a mindful writing workshop in September. Finally on the 2nd September we will be having a plant sale and open day so get the date in your diaries!

The garden is looking lovely with the borders bursting into bloom. One of my particular favourites Hydrangea Annabelle is just blooming though not yet the magnificent big white balls that she bears when in full flush forming a white wall at the back of the cool bed. I will post photos as soon as she has reached her full potential. If you want to come and look around the garden and/or just spend some peaceful time with a book/drawing etc that can be arranged at a time to suit, just contact me by phone or email and we can arrange a time. The whole point of the garden is that it is available to people who would like a bit of green space to calm their mind and soul but maybe don’t have easy access to it in their everyday lives. We are also immediately adjacent to the lovely Wharnclifffe woods for walks in very beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The water lilies on the pond in the woods are stunning at the moment.
